Planning Procedure

The planning procedure is made up of 3 main areas:

Observations:
On a daily basis all key persons observe children whilst they play. These observations are a great tool in identifying where your child’s developmental needs are. Observations identify the next steps for your child. Observations are also linked to your child’s progress record, our weekly planning and your child’s learning story.

Individual Learning Plans:
After observing your child’s needs and interests, your child’s key person will develop an individual learning plan for your child. The learning plan is then implemented throughout the days that your child attends nursery. Your child’s individual needs are specifically planned for and specific learning experiences are implemented.

Weekly Plan:
On a weekly basis all key persons bring together their individual learning plans. Together they plan what learning experiences to provide to best support the children throughout the week. Staff carefully link your child’s learning to the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum & Every Child Matters 5 Outcomes. Staff understand how important these government strategies are and ensure your child’s learning is specifically linked to these.
